Q: Do I need a homeowner’s (building owner’s) permission to submit my project?
A: Yes, it’s required that you ask the owner for permission to photograph the exterior of their home or building for promotional purposes. However, please inform owners that we do not publish homeowners’ names or full addresses – only the city and state.
Q: Do my project photos have to be taken by a “professional”?
A: No, they can be taken by anyone with any decent camera, including smartphones. However, better quality photos always produce better results. You must either own the photos you submit or obtain unlimited usage rights from your photographer. It’s also possible that Chelsea Building Products may decide to hire a professional photographer to shoot your project based on its merits and Chelsea Building Products’ marketing initiatives.
Q: Is free publicity guaranteed?
A: No. But the more quality projects you submit, the more likely you will receive free publicity. When you submit project information, your project will first be evaluated by Chelsea Building Products. After this evaluation, we’ll determine if we can publicize your project and where we should publicize it. Your project may be submitted to a variety of trade media for potential publication, publicized through Everlast® social media channels, and/or published on EverlastSiding.com. If we submit your project to trade media, we will credit the project with your company name. However, editors of trade media ultimately decide what to print.
